Gonella, M.P 2003-2006

A generic Ojibwe word for medicine called maskiki, the Shawnee word for a leaf is msiski, and the Fox word for blade of grass is masiskiwi. These references together indicate that a prairie grass blade is probably used for a medicinal purpose by all of these cultural groups.
