A hole is dug in the ground in which rocks are placed and heated with a fire on top of them. When the fire is done; dry moss is placed over the heated stones and the roots thrown in and covered with grass or moss; bark; water added and then earth covering the top. It is left for five days and then the roots are removed; cut into small pieces; dried on a small scaffold and used later. They are good for a year this way. When used; they are added to a batch of soup before the meat is done cooking.
