John Logan Drake married Della Leonard, another Miami allottee, on May 17, 1909, in Commerce. They had four children: John, Paul (known by his nickname “Teddy”), Wayne Logan, and Geraldine. John, Jr., died as a young boy, and Wayne died in the service of this country during World War II. John farmed in Ottawa County until the late 1920s, when he moved to Kansas City and worked in the Stockyards. Teddy Drake remembered the Drake Farm fondly, and painted a scene as he remembered it from his boyhood, which is now at the Myaamia Heritage Museum and Archive.
