Attended University of Cincinnati law school, then partnered in Fort Wayne with Charles W. Ewing, followed by William H. Coombs. Married Helen McCarty, daughter of Judge Jonathan McCarty. Then married Frances Jones. His death notices noted he had a considerable fortune.
