The use of the "i" before "tcɛ" temporal is an obscure point. It appears to be used where the verb ends in "s" (although "stcɛ" is permitted as a sound-complex where the "s" is a verbal suffix), and regularly between "mɛn" negative and tce (although "ntcɛ" is permitted where "n" is the terminal letter in a suffixed pronoun). Yet a phonetic reason suggests itself since "i" has never been discovered where the verb ends in a vowel; vide "wɔnɔtcɛ", as used throughout the text. The possibility of the "i" being the past tense element, or the third person pronominal element, has been considered, but the examples hardly serve to bear this out.
